Bhubaneswar: Taking its social initiatives a step further, ASSET NGO (Arya Smile and Social Educational Trust) under the guidance of Entrepreneur and Social Activist Manit Singh, is conducting health awareness sessions on the importance of hydration and nutritional development for students during summer in semi-urban and rural areas of West Bengal.

As part of the campaign, ASSET conducted informative sessions for students in various schools across West Bengal including BS Upper Primary School, JN Vidyalaya, Banarasi Vidyalaya, Labour Welfare Primary School and Gouripore Girls Primary School. The students were also educated on basic hygiene and diet. Besides the awareness sessions, ASSET also provided Fruit Juices to the students.

Manit Singh, Director, ASSET, said, “First and foremost, I want to thank Nandlal Yadav Ji from BS Upper Primary School, Dilip Shaw Ji from Banarasi Vidyalaya, Brijesh Prasad Ji from Labour Welfare Primary School, Kumari Ruku Shaw Ji from JN Vidyalaya, Anil Gupta Ji from Gouripore Girls Primary School and all the teachers for their support in organizing such engaging activities. The high temperatures and humidity during summer can lead to dehydration, which may result in serious health issues. That’s why it is essential to take proactive steps to stay hydrated. Proper hydration plays a vital role in maintaining physical performance, particularly during summer sports and outdoor activities. Even mild dehydration can lead to fatigue and a drop in energy levels. Considering the rising temperatures, we have launched the Hydrate India Health Campaign in semi-urban and rural areas of West Bengal. Through this initiative, we aim to foster meaningful behavioral change and promote a culture of hydration and hygiene, while also providing free fruit juices to students.”

Under this health awareness initiative, ASSET has collaborated with schools and organizations across various parts of West Bengal. Over the coming weeks, as part of this multi-faceted campaign, ASSET will roll out a series of initiatives in the region to encourage parents and their children to prioritize hydration and adopt healthy practices.
