(Newshub Desk) The bustling capital city of Bhubaneswar recently witnessed an empowering event that underscored women-led economic progress—the INWEC Women’s Business Fair, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

The fair, inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, marked the centenary celebration of the ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC) and showcased the transformative efforts driving women’s empowerment in Odisha.

In his keynote address, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the state’s commitment to nurturing women entrepreneurs through initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana, benefiting over 90% of women in Odisha, and the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, which has empowered 17 lakh women to earn ₹1 lakh annually, with a goal to reach 25 lakh beneficiaries by 2027.

Majhi highlighted the importance of skill development, market connectivity, and financial access in preparing Odisha’s women for global competition.

The fair featured a dynamic blend of innovation and tradition, with women entrepreneurs displaying products ranging from handicrafts and textiles to tech-driven startups.

The event also provided workshops, networking sessions, and panel discussions to equip attendees with essential market insights. It concluded with a call to action, setting the tone for Odisha’s vision of inclusive growth and prosperity driven by empowered women by 2036
