New Delhi, India – May 5, 2025 (Newshub Desk ): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to revolutionise its evaluation system by introducing dual board exams for Class 10, starting in 2026.

This move aims to reduce exam stress and provide students with more flexibility, allowing them to take exams twice a year and have their best score counted as final.

Officials believe this initiative will help students better prepare and perform, eliminating the pressure of a single high-stakes exam.

Additionally, CBSE will maintain its relative grading system, ranking students based on percentile instead of fixed cutoffs.

Alongside this, advanced-level papers for Science and Social Science will be introduced in Classes 9 and 10, aimed at improving conceptual understanding.

With last year’s pass percentages at 93.60% for Class 10 and 87.98% for Class 12, experts anticipate a similar trend this year.

The minimum passing mark remains at 33% per subject, and supplementary exams will be conducted soon after the results are announced.

Students and parents alike have welcomed the changes, expressing optimism about the flexibility and reduced stress this system brings.
