Agra, India ( Newshub Desk)– In a landmark security upgrade, authorities have implemented a cutting-edge anti-drone system at the Taj Mahal to prevent unauthorised aerial activity.
The deployment aims to enhance monument security and safeguard the heritage site from potential surveillance risks.
According to Syed Arib Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Taj Security), the system is equipped with radio frequency jammers and GPS signal disruption technology.
While its range extends up to 8 kilometres, officials have opted for a 500-meter operational perimeter due to the sensitivity of the location.
“Any unauthorised drone entering this restricted airspace is instantly disabled, triggering a rapid response team to locate the device and its operator,” Ahmed stated.
This initiative aligns with broader efforts by the Uttar Pradesh Police to secure India’s most treasured sites. Similar technology was previously deployed for high-profile events, including the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and the Ram Lalla idol consecration in Ayodhya in January 2024.
Security experts believe this move sets a precedent for other historic landmarks across India, reinforcing national heritage protection against modern threats.
