Bhubaneswar, June 18(Newshub Desk): In a heartfelt gesture that transcended party lines, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi offered prayers at the Jagannath Temple today for the speedy recovery of Leader of Opposition and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Patnaik is currently undergoing treatment for cervical arthritis at a private hospital in Mumbai.
The 78-year-old former Chief Minister was admitted earlier this week, sparking concern and well-wishes from across the political spectrum.
“Despite ideological differences, Naveen Babu’s health is above politics.
I prayed to Lord Jagannath for his swift and complete recovery,” CM Majhi stated while speaking to reporters outside the temple premises.
The gesture has drawn praise from various quarters, highlighting a rare moment of political civility in the state. Citizens and political leaders alike lauded the CM for putting compassion before rivalry.
Patnaik’s office issued a brief statement thanking well-wishers for their prayers and affirming that his health is stable and improving.
