Kalinganagar, June 20, 2025 – In a collaborative and swift response to a diarrhoea outbreak reported in the Danagadi Block of Jajpur district, Odisha, during the second week of June, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) has been working in close coordination with Block Health Officials and the District Administration to facilitate an effective intervention.
Demonstrating a shared commitment to public health, TSF immediately mobilised crucial ambulance services to ensure the timely transport of patients from affected villages to nearby hospitals for crucial medical attention. This vital support included providing dedicated vehicle and ambulance resources to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Danagadi for transporting patients from the affected areas to CHC Danagadi and also to Jajpur District Hospital, ensuring they received prompt and life-saving treatment.
Further enhancing the collaborative response, TSF provided a vehicle that was instrumental in transporting the government medical team, along with essential medicines and consumables, to the affected areas.
Apart from this, TSF is regularly organising vital health awareness sessions for local communities. These sessions are specifically designed to focus on the prevention and control of diarrhoea and cholera, empowering residents with critical knowledge. These awareness initiatives are being conducted as part of TSF’s Employee Volunteerism initiative, with active support from the RISHTA and Poshan Projects, further solidifying the collaborative spirit.
