(Newshub Desk)The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched an investigation into alleged financial misconduct involving 29 public figures, among them popular Tollywood actors Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, and Rana Daggubati.
This action follows a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Cyberabad police in Telangana, targeting transactions tied to a digital betting application operating outside legal bounds.
The probe has expanded to include actress Manchu Lakshmi, Nidhi Agarwal, Ananya Nagalla, and television anchor Srimukhi. ED officials are currently examining digital footprints and financial trails, with summons expected for questioning regarding promotional involvement and potential monetary exchanges linked to the platform.
As the case unfolds, it has triggered broader conversations around influencer accountability and the responsibilities of public figures in digital spaces.
The ED emphasises that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will emerge as they analyse the complex digital trail.
This development underscores India’s tightening grip on illegal online betting platforms and the regulatory focus on celebrities endorsing or engaging with such services.
