Bhubaneswar, July 15, (Newshub desk): The Odisha government has issued a stern warning to over 20.58 lakh ration cardholders who have not completed their mandatory e-KYC verification.

As a direct consequence, rice distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS) has been temporarily suspended for these beneficiaries.

According to Food Supply Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, affected households have been granted a three-month grace period to complete the process.

Failure to comply will result in permanent cancellation of ration cards. To ensure accessibility, the state has improved internet infrastructure in low-connectivity districts.

In a related policy update, children aged five and above are now eligible for inclusion on ration cards, broadening the scope of household benefits and enhancing data accuracy under the PDS.

Citizens are urged to complete e-KYC promptly to avoid disruption in food supply and safeguard household entitlements.
