Mumbai, June 7, ( Newshub Desk)– The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to Bollywood actor Dino Morea in connection with its ongoing investigation into the Rs 65 crore Mithi River desilting scam.

This development follows searches conducted at Morea’s residence as part of the probe.

Morea, known for his association with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, has previously been questioned twice by Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is running a parallel investigation.

Authorities suspect financial irregularities in payments made for desilting work between 2007 and 2021, with concerns over manipulated tenders favouring select suppliers.

The Mithi River, crucial for Mumbai’s flood prevention system, has been at the centre of corruption allegations.

Fraudulent desilting work has reportedly caused significant losses to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Both ED and EOW continue to scrutinise civic officials, contractors, and suppliers linked to the matter.
