Sambalpur, Odisha – May 20, ( Newshub Desk): India’s G20-Sherpa and former CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant, visited the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur, where he engaged in insightful discussions on India’s economic growth trajectory and the role of educational institutions in shaping future leaders.

During his address, Kant emphasised the need to expand India’s economy from $4 trillion to over $30 trillion, achieving the ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

He outlined key economic targets, including 9% GDP growth, an 8% rise in per capita income, and a 16% boost in manufacturing.

Highlighting Sambalpur’s strategic importance, he lauded the region’s contributions to aluminium and power production, positioning it as a significant driver of India’s economic progress.

Additionally, he admired the sustainable and innovative design of IIM Sambalpur’s campus, calling it a benchmark for academic institutions nationwide.

Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, expressed gratitude for Kant’s visit and reiterated the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation, academic excellence, and national development.
