Bhubaneswar, June 11(Newshub Desk): Odisha’s international connectivity is set for a major boost as IndiGo Airlines launches a direct flight service between Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar and Abu Dhabi on June 12.
The non-stop flight will operate three times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—catering to business travellers, tourists, and expatriates working in the UAE.
According to flight schedules, departures from Bhubaneswar are set for 9:35 AM (IST), with arrivals in Abu Dhabi at 12:35 PM (local time).
The return flight from Abu Dhabi will leave at 2:35 AM (local time) and reach Bhubaneswar at 8:35 AM (IST).
The introductory fare for a one-way ticket from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi is Rs 12,685, while the return journey costs Rs 16,132. Ticket prices are expected to fluctuate based on demand and seat availability.
Industry experts highlight that the success of the Bhubaneswar-Dubai route has demonstrated strong demand for direct international flights from Odisha.
The new Abu Dhabi connection is anticipated to enhance travel convenience for the Odia diaspora and open doors to expanded business and tourism opportunities.
