Bhubaneswar, May 6, 2025 (Newshub Desk ) – In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, a nationwide civil defence mock drill is set to take place in 244 districts, including 12 in Odisha, such as Bhubaneswar.

The exercise, designed to simulate bombing scenarios, will feature siren alerts at 4 PM, lasting 5 minutes.

Residents are advised to seek shelter immediately upon hearing the siren, while a second siren, sounding 15 minutes later, will signal that it is safe to emerge.

Authorities emphasise that this drill is not a cause for panic but rather a proactive measure to enhance civilian preparedness in potential emergency situations.

Speaking about the drill, senior police official Uma Shankar Dash stated that efforts are underway to ensure seamless execution and public cooperation.

With heightened security concerns, the initiative seeks to educate citizens on response mechanisms in crisis scenarios, reinforcing India’s commitment to national safety and emergency readiness.
