On the auspicious occasion of the Odia New Year, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the much-anticipated Odia New Year Calendar at the revered Puri Srimandir.
Crafted meticulously by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the calendar serves as a spiritual guide for devotees, detailing festival dates and ritual timings.
The unveiling ceremony was steeped in tradition, with the calendar first dedicated to the deities of the Srimandir.
The Chief Minister, joined by dignitaries such as Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan and Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, extended heartfelt New Year wishes to the people of Odisha. He highlighted the calendar’s significance as a bridge to Odisha’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
Coinciding with Pana Sankranti, Odisha’s vibrant New Year festival, the event emphasized the state’s agrarian traditions and devotion. The calendar is now accessible to the public at a nominal price of ₹100, symbolizing its inclusivity and cultural importance.
This initiative reflects Odisha’s enduring commitment to preserving its traditions and connecting communities with the divine.
