Baunsuni, Boudh (Newshub Desk): A powerful thunderstorm struck the Baunsuni area of Boudh district on Saturday evening, causing widespread damage and disrupting road connectivity.
The storm uprooted trees, blocking multiple stretches of National Highway 57, the key route between Khordha and Balangir.
The Baunsuni-Manmunda road was also heavily obstructed, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded for hours.
Several houses had their roofs blown away, and a complete power outage plunged the area into darkness. Emergency response teams, including fire services, rushed to clear the fallen trees and restore mobility.
Authorities continue to assess damages, urging residents to stay cautious as weather conditions remain unstable.
