Bhubaneswar, May 11, 2025 (Newshub Desk)—A fire caused by a short circuit in Paikarapur, Bhubaneswar, led to widespread alarm late Saturday night, as locals feared it was a drone attack linked to ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, prompting concerns that the blaze was an aerial assault.
The scare intensified following India’s recent accusations that Pakistan violated a ceasefire agreement.
However, authorities later confirmed that the incident resulted from an electrical fault, dispelling fears of an attack. Security officials reassured the public that the situation is under control, urging residents to remain calm as normalcy gradually returns.
The incident comes amid heightened security concerns following Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
