Bhubaneswar, June 11, (Newshub desk): The General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) conducted an extensive inspection of the Sonepur–Purunakatak railway section, a crucial segment of the Khurda Road–Balangir rail line project.
The visit aimed to assess the progress of construction, gauge operational feasibility, and ensure timely completion of the project.
During the inspection, officials provided detailed reports on track laying, station infrastructure, and signalling systems.
The ECoR GM emphasised the importance of maintaining safety standards and expediting work to enhance connectivity in western Odisha.
Local stakeholders and railway authorities expressed optimism about the project’s completion, highlighting its potential to boost regional development and improve transportation for passengers and freight.
The Khurda Road–Balangir rail line is expected to significantly reduce travel time and bolster economic activity in the region. Authorities assured continued monitoring to keep the project on schedule.
