Bhubaneswar, May 22, ( Newshub Desk) – In a major healthcare initiative, Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital Bhubaneswar has introduced a Super Speciality OPD service aimed at providing high-quality medical care to insured employees and their families.
The Super Speciality OPD, inaugurated by Shri Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, Minister of Labour and Employees’ State Insurance, is a collaborative effort with Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
The facility offers advanced medical treatment in Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology, Neurology, and Endocrinology.
This free-of-cost service seeks to address the growing number of employees suffering from chronic conditions like kidney and heart diseases, ensuring they receive comprehensive and specialised medical care without financial strain.
Since its establishment in 1960, the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme has been providing healthcare services to nearly 10 lakh insured individuals across four hospitals and 53 dispensaries in Odisha.
Expanding on this, the state government plans to set up five new hospitals to further strengthen medical accessibility for workers.
With Odisha’s healthcare infrastructure evolving rapidly, the government continues to forge partnerships with Secondary and Tertiary Care centres, including the recent dialysis unit set up at ESI Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
This latest move underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring free and quality medical treatment for insured employees.
