Bhubaneswar, May 3, 2025(Newshub Desk ) – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh warnings for severe Kalbaisakhi storms across Odisha, predicting thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds in multiple districts.
With an Orange Warning in effect for Ganjam, Gajapati, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh, residents are urged to prepare for extreme weather conditions.
Prior to the storm’s arrival, Odisha endured scorching temperatures due to an unrelenting heatwave. While the rainfall has provided much-needed relief, temperatures are expected to fluctuate over the coming days.
Authorities are advising residents to stay indoors, avoid sheltering under trees during storms, and secure loose outdoor objects to minimise hazards. Disaster response teams remain on standby for emergencies.
As the monsoon season approaches, Odisha is experiencing unpredictable weather patterns. The IMD has warned that more fluctuations may occur in the near future, urging citizens to stay alert and follow official advisories.
