New Delhi, May 10, 2025 (Newshub Desk) — In a decisive counterterrorism operation, India carried out precision airstrikes on May 7, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The mission, dubbed Operation Sindoor, was a direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack, resulting in the elimination of five senior operatives affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (Jem).
Among those neutralised were:
- Mudassar Khadian Khas (Let) — A top commander overseeing Markaz Taiba operations.
- Hafiz Muhammed Jameel (Jem) — A key radical recruiter linked to Maulana Masood Azhar.
- Mohammad Yusuf Azhar (Jem) — A weapons trainer involved in past terror attacks.
- Khalid aka Abu Akasha (Let) — Suspected in arms smuggling from Afghanistan.
- Mohammad Hassan Khan (Jem) — Son of a senior Jem operative coordinating attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
Reports suggest that high-ranking Pakistani officials attended the funerals of the deceased terrorists, hinting at alleged state backing for these individuals
The strikes have intensified regional tensions, with analysts predicting potential retaliatory measures.
India’s swift and calculated action underscores its unwavering stance against cross-border terrorism, sending a clear message that threats to national security will not go unanswered.
