New Delhi( Newshub Desk): The Election Commission of India has officially announced bye-elections for five Assembly constituencies spread across Gujarat, Kerala, Punjab, and West Bengal, scheduled to take place on June 19, 2025. The Commission aims to fill vacancies caused by deaths and resignations of legislators in these regions.
According to the notification, vote counting will be conducted on June 23, and the entire electoral process will conclude by June 25.
The affected constituencies include Kadi (Gujarat), Visavadar (Gujarat), Nilambur (Kerala), Ludhiana West (Punjab), and Kaliganj (West Bengal).
- Kadi (Gujarat) – Death of Shri Karsanbhai Punjabhai Solanki
- Visavadar (Gujarat) – Resignation of Shri Bhayani Bhupendrabhai Gandubhai
- Nilambur (Kerala) – Resignation of Shri P. Anvar
- Ludhiana West (Punjab) – Death of Shri Gurpreet Bassi Gogi
- Kaliganj (West Bengal) – Death of Shri Nasiruddin Ahamed
The nomination process begins on May 26, with June 2 as the last date for filing nominations. Following scrutiny and withdrawal deadlines, the election process will unfold in accordance with the set schedule.
Political parties are expected to announce their candidates soon as they gear up for competitive electoral battles in these states.
