Bhubaneswar, July 10(Newshub Desk): Amid a statewide driver strike causing logistical disruption across Odisha, the state government has acted swiftly to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.
On July 9, Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena chaired a high-level review meeting involving top officials and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
A multi-agency task force—comprising personnel from the transport department, police, district administrations, and OMCs—has been deployed to oversee 24/7 fuel logistics and movement of essential goods. Police escorts are provided where needed.
Minister Jena appealed to the striking drivers to reconsider their stance for public welfare, reaffirming the government’s commitment to dialogue.
OMCs have verified that petroleum supplies remain stable and replenishments are proceeding without interruption.
Citizens have been urged to stay calm, avoid panic buying, and refrain from sharing unverified social media claims.
The Odisha government reiterated its assurance of safety and logistical normalcy across districts.
