Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the ‘Digital House’ under the National e-Vidhan Application in the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, in the presence of Speaker Surama Padhy.

This initiative marks a significant step towards digital transformation, as the Odisha Assembly has adopted a paperless approach, allowing members to use tablets during House sessions. The goal of this initiative is to enhance the efficiency of the assembly while promoting environmental sustainability.

The National Informatics Center (NIC) has implemented the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project, which enables members to access documents, reports, and other materials in a digital format. This system aims to reduce paper consumption and increase transparency within the legislative process.

Reports indicate that each of the 147 Assembly members has been provided with a tablet, allowing them to retrieve documents and information without the need for paper.

Notably, the budget session of the Odisha Assembly is set to begin on February 13, consisting of 28 working days. The session will be conducted in two phases: the first phase will conclude on February 21, and the second phase will commence on March 7. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to present the comprehensive budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on February 17. The session will begin with the Governor’s address on February 13.
