Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is scheduled to meet Minati Das, wife of the late minister Naba Das, at the Lok Seva Bhavan tomorrow at 5 PM.
The meeting comes amidst rising calls for a transparent investigation into the minister’s tragic murder.
Naba Das’ daughter, Dipali Das, a former BJD MLA, is set to present a formal request for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case. She aims to submit a letter to the Chief Minister, urging the state to involve the central investigation agency for an impartial and thorough inquiry.
Earlier, a two-member Crime Branch team had revisited the minister’s residence in Jharsuguda to re-record statements from family members, including Minati Das, Dipali Das, and Bishal Das. This move has been seen as a step toward reopening the case.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan criticized the initial investigation, claiming it was mishandled and lacked transparency. He emphasized the need to shed light on hidden aspects of the high-profile case.
