Bhubaneswar, ( Newshub desk) – June 6, 2025 – Hundreds of junior teachers in Odisha gathered at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar to demand the regularisation of their positions and fair pay.

Frustrated with years of job insecurity, they voiced their grievances and called on the government to fulfil its promises of abolishing contractual employment.

The protesting teachers argue that stable jobs would not only improve their livelihoods but also enhance the education sector by ensuring a dedicated workforce.

Many recall assurances from previous administrations regarding employment stability, yet junior teachers remain excluded from such reforms.

“If the government fails to act, we will escalate our protests statewide and even approach the central government,” warned one protester.

Despite growing unrest, officials have yet to issue a formal response, leaving educators in uncertainty about their future.

This demonstration highlights broader challenges in employment security within India’s education sector, underscoring the need for comprehensive policy reforms.
