Bhubaneswar, May 30, ( Newshub Desk) – The Government of Odisha successfully hosted the Lakhpati Didi Conclave 2025 at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre on May 29, reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
This flagship initiative has transformed the lives of over 16 lakh rural women, enabling them to earn ₹1 lakh or more annually, making Odisha the frontrunner in India’s drive for financial independence among women.
The conclave featured key dignitaries, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CM Pravati Parida, and senior officials, alongside 300 Lakhpati Didis, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, and experts from across the country.
A major highlight was the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs):
- ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce): Aimed at expanding SHG products digitally.
- Industree Foundation: Focused on building sustainable enterprise ecosystems for rural entrepreneurs.
On the second day, participants embarked on a field immersion program, exploring Odisha’s heritage sites, including Jagannath Temple, Raghurajpur Craft Heritage Village, Chandrabhaga Sea Beach, and Konark Sun Temple & Museum.
The event concluded with delegates inspired by Odisha’s model of women-led development, eager to replicate its success across India.
