The Odisha government, in collaboration with its police department, is striving to eradicate crime and ensure justice.
A notable example of their efforts is the swift apprehension of suspects within 24 hours of the recent Holi day murders.
The state has observed a 7.4% reduction in crimes against women, along with a decrease in juvenile offenses over the past year. Steps include an enhanced police force with new recruits, vehicles, and technology upgrades, such as the expansion of cyber police stations from 14 to 34.
As per the statistics, from June 2023 to February 2024, offenses such as sexual harassment and juvenile crimes have shown a significant drop.
In light of this, Odisha’s Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining law and order during a recent state assembly session.
With comprehensive reforms and budget allocation increases, the Odisha police aim to foster a safer environment for its citizens.
