Ganjam, | July 9(Newshub Desk): Odisha Vigilance officials have uncovered Rs 3 lakh in unaccounted cash from the official vehicle of a supply officer in Ganjam district, triggering a full-scale investigation.
The officer in question, Pusha Munda, who was recently transferred to Nuapada district, was intercepted near Chhatrapur on the national highway while en route from his rented residence in Bank Colony to his office.
The raid yielded cash exclusively in Rs 500 denomination, stashed within his government vehicle.
Following the seizure, vigilance teams raided his home at Ashirbad Apartment in Ganjam, hoping to trace the source of the money.
However, Munda failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the substantial sum, raising suspicions of possible misconduct or bribery.
Officials confirmed that a formal investigation is underway to determine whether the funds were linked to corrupt practices or unauthorised transactions.
The timing of the recovery—following Munda’s recent transfer—has further intensified scrutiny.
This incident adds to growing concerns about accountability and transparency within administrative services in Odisha.
