Bhubaneswar, June 27(Newshub Desk) — A fresh low-pressure area formed over the northwestern Bay of Bengal, triggered by a cyclonic circulation, is set to bring continued rainfall across Odisha until July 2, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre.

This weather system is expected to move west-northwestward, traversing parts of northern Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.

As a result, multiple districts in Odisha are bracing for heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Current Impact: Rainfall has already been reported in Cuttack, Hirakud, Talcher, Balangir, Titilagarh, and Nuapada, while areas in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda are forecast to experience further downpours by Friday.

A yellow warning has been issued for these districts, advising residents to remain vigilant.

Coastal and adjoining regions may also witness moderate rainfall during this period.

The low-pressure zone is being closely monitored for further development, with authorities urging citizens to follow local advisories and prepare for possible waterlogging in low-lying areas.
