Odisha’s Agriculture Department has been honoured with the ET DigiTech Award 2025 under the category “Digital Innovations in Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment.”
The award recognizes the department’s groundbreaking initiative, Krushi Samruddhi Advisory System, which leverages digital technology to revolutionize the agricultural sector and empower farmers across the state.
Presented during the Economic Times Conclave at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi, this accolade celebrates innovations that integrate cutting-edge technology with public services, benefiting India’s rural economy.
Vishal Gagan, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha received the award at this event on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Odisha.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi commended the department for its dedicated efforts, expressing his congratulations and applauding the role of the platform in providing essential knowledge and informed recommendations to farmers.
Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo extended his heartfelt congratulations, emphasizing the transformative impact of the initiative.
Krushi Samruddhi, a dual-mode communication platform, delivers weekly audio advisories and facilitates direct consultation with agricultural experts. By bridging knowledge gaps, the system supports over 75 lakh farmers across the state, providing real-time advice tailored to geographical and seasonal requirements.
Looking forward, the state plans to further enhance this initiative by integrating AI models, satellite data, and remote sensing technologies for more precise and comprehensive agricultural solutions. The program’s success stands as a testament to Odisha’s commitment to modernization and holistic development in agriculture.
