Bhubaneswar, May 16, 2025 (Newshub Desk) – Odisha witnessed a grand spectacle of unity as Mission Shakti organised the Sindoor Yatra, a procession celebrating strength, patriotism, and womanhood.
Thousands of women marched from Master Canteen Square to Rama Devi University, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi joining the event to honour Operation Sindoor and the sacrifices of India’s armed forces.
The Sindoor Yatra carried deep symbolic meaning, with sindoor being recognised not just as a cultural ornament but as a mark of commitment, courage, and national pride.
CM Majhi echoed PM Narendra Modi’s sentiments, stating that the red colour of sindoor represents protection for families, danger to adversaries, and victory for India.
Adding emotional depth to the event, Lt. Commander Ananya Dalbehera and Priyadarshini Acharya, wife of a martyred soldier, participated in the march, reinforcing the themes of sacrifice and resilience.
Mission Shakti, Odisha’s flagship women’s empowerment initiative, played a pivotal role in organising the event, ensuring mass participation and highlighting the government’s commitment to women’s leadership.
The Sindoor Yatra was more than just a celebration—it was a pledge to protect the nation, uplift women, and honour the courage of India’s defenders.
Odisha continues to lead by example in championing women’s empowerment, setting a precedent for the nation.
