Bhubaneswar, July 9(Newshub desk): President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a two-day visit to Odisha on July 14 and 15, marked by a series of impactful engagements in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Upon arrival in the state capital aboard a special Indian Air Force aircraft, the President will be received with ceremonial honours and will be staying at the Raj Bhavan during her visit.
On the evening of July 14, she will preside as Chief Guest at the 5th Convocation of AIIMS Bhubaneswar—celebrating the achievements of medical graduates and affirming her commitment to healthcare and academic excellence.
The next day, July 15, will see her addressing the 13th Annual Convocation of Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. During her visit, she will also lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, underscoring her emphasis on empowering girls through education.
Later in the afternoon, the President will visit Sharala Bhawan in Tulasipur to pay tribute to 15th-century poet Adikabi Sharala Das on the occasion of his 600th birth anniversary.
She will also present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award 2024 during a literary ceremony organised by the Sharala Sahitya Sansad, reinforcing the cultural and literary pride of Odisha.
A high-level coordination meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, has ensured comprehensive preparations across logistics, security, medical services, and power management.
Senior officials from various departments, police, and district administrations of Khordha and Cuttack have been tasked with seamless execution.
President Murmu’s visit is seen as a powerful reaffirmation of Odisha’s growing prominence in educational reform, cultural heritage preservation, and gender-focused development.
