PURI (Newshub Desk ): On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the much-awaited chariot construction for Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra officially began today in Puri.
Following age-old traditions, the sacred ritual marks the beginning of preparations for the grand Rath Yatra.
Amidst chants, devotees observed the customary rituals, including the Mangala Arati and Chandan Yatra. The temple administration confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth construction.
The Puri SP emphasised the importance of security measures and stated that proper protocols are in place. The Vishwakarma artisans are working diligently, adhering to traditions, and are on track to complete the chariots before the Gundicha Yatra.
This event holds immense religious and cultural significance for devotees, symbolising devotion and the timeless tradition of celebrating Lord Jagannath’s grandeur.
