Lucknow, June 23(Newshub Desk): In a major shake-up ahead of crucial elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has expelled three sitting MLAs—Abhay Singh (Gosainganj), Rakesh Pratap Singh (Gauriganj), and Manoj Kumar Pandey (Unchahar)—citing ideological deviation and persistent anti-party activities.

The decision, announced through the party’s official statement, accused the legislators of endorsing “communal and divisive ideologies” that run counter to the SP’s foundational values of inclusivity, social justice, and welfare for marginalised communities.

“These individuals acted against the interests of farmers, women, and the youth,” the statement said. “They were given adequate time to realign with our principles but chose to continue harming public interest and the party’s mission.”

The disciplinary move sends a strong message to party cadre: deviation from SP’s core ethos and undermining public welfare will lead to severe consequences, including expulsion.

The backdrop of this action is heightened political manoeuvring in Uttar Pradesh, with key assembly and general elections on the horizon.

Observers view this as a strategic cleanup drive aimed at reinforcing ideological coherence and loyalty.

SP’s final note—“Be trustworthy wherever you are. Best wishes” was interpreted as a symbolic closure and warning to dissenters.
