In a significant bureaucratic development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Satyabrata Sahu, a 1991-batch IAS officer from Odisha, for a Secretary-equivalent post at the Centre.

This announcement, made on April 21, 2025, also includes two other senior IAS officers—Shridhar Mishra (1991 batch) and Keshav Kumar Pathak (1990 batch)—marking a notable reshuffle in India’s top administrative ranks.

Sahu, who has been serving as Odisha’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home) since August 2024, has played a vital role in overseeing state affairs, particularly in governance and policy implementation. He also holds an additional charge in the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department, showcasing his versatility and administrative acumen.

His empanelment signifies his vast experience and trusted leadership, with the central government recognizing his ability to handle key national responsibilities.

The move marks a new chapter in Sahu’s distinguished career, further strengthening the connection between state governance and national administration.
