Bhubaneswar, July 9(Newshub Desk): In a significant development on Odisha’s political front, senior leader Sunita Biswal has officially tendered her resignation from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), citing personal reasons.

Her departure, after over six years of service, was formally communicated to party president Naveen Patnaik.

Expressing deep gratitude, Biswal described her association with the party as “an honour and privilege,” emphasising the opportunities it gave her to serve the people of Odisha.

She extended heartfelt thanks to the leadership and cadre for their support throughout her tenure.

Known for her calm demeanour and strategic grassroots presence in western Odisha, especially Sundargarh, Biswal’s exit leaves a notable gap in BJD’s regional framework.

As the daughter of former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal, her influence carried both emotional and political weight in the region.

Despite stepping down, she reaffirmed her faith in BJD’s guiding ideals and wished the party continued progress. Her letter struck a harmonious tone, steering clear of internal criticism or controversy.

As Odisha inches closer to the election season, Biswal’s departure introduces subtle tremors in the political landscape, signalling potential recalibrations in the party’s regional dynamics.
