Bhubaneswar, 28th September 2025: As the festive season approaches, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has undertaken a series of proactive measures to ensure public safety and uninterrupted electricity supply. Extensive inspections were carried out across Puja Pandals, vending zones and marketplaces in key areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, including Unit-1, Unit-2, Badagada, Rasulgarh, Khandagiri, Baramunda, Chandrasekharpur, Powerhouse Square, CRP Square, Badambadi, Dolamundai, Ranihat, Buxibazar, Choudhury Bazar, CDA and Bidanasi.

In addition, the company has deployed special monitoring squads in high-footfall areas to keep a close watch on temporary connections during the festive period. These efforts are intended to reduce the risks of fire hazards, overloading and power interruptions.

These inspections focused on assessing the safety of temporary electrical installations, with special attention to proper wiring, load management and earthing systems. TPCODL teams also engaged with Puja organizers and vendors, educating them on best practices for safe and responsible electricity usage during large public events. To create greater public awareness, leaflets and safety advisories were also distributed in select areas.

“Festivals are a time of celebration, but safety must always come first. Our initiative is aimed at preventing electrical accidents while also encouraging lawful electricity usage that benefits both the public and the power system,” said Shri Arvind Singh, CEO, TPCODL.

TPCODL appeals to the public, event organizers and street vendors to use only authorized electricity connections and to promptly report any unsafe or illegal practices. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering safe, reliable and high-quality electricity to all its customers across Central Odisha.
