Bhubaneswar, July 14(Newshub desk): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today visited AIIMS Bhubaneswar to meet the family of Soumyashree Bishi, a student of Fakir Mohan Autonomous College who attempted self-immolation in Balasore. The victim remains in critical condition.

Pradhan expressed deep concern, calling the incident “disturbing and serious,” and highlighted a breakdown in the teacher-student relationship.

He likened this bond to that of parent and child, urging society to introspect on the erosion of trust in educational institutions.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also visited AIIMS earlier, prompting swift administrative and legal action.

Pradhan commended the state’s efforts and called for continued exemplary governance to ensure student safety.
