Bhubaneswar, July 31(Newshub Desk): Telugu cinema’s latest spy thriller Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, hit theatres today to a wave of mixed reactions.
While fans are hailing Deverakonda’s performance as his “career-best,” the film’s predictable storyline and lack of emotional depth have drawn criticism across social media.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, Kingdom is the first instalment of a planned duology.
The film boasts high production values, intense action sequences, and a gripping first half. Anirudh Ravichander’s background score has also earned praise for elevating key moments.
However, the second half has disappointed many viewers, with some calling it “soulless” and “routine.” Despite strong performances from Satyadev and others, the film’s emotional disconnect has left audiences underwhelmed.
The cast includes Bhagyashri Borse, Goparaju Ramana, Manish Chaudhari, and Baburaj. The movie ends on a cliffhanger, setting the stage for a sequel that fans hope will deliver more depth and originality.
Kingdom may be a one-time watch for most, but its technical finesse and star power ensure it remains a talking point in Telugu cinema.
