Puri, May 17, 2025 ( Newshub Desk): As ISKCON prepares for its Rath Yatra tomorrow, strong opposition from the local servitors has intensified.

The servitors of the Jagannath Temple assert that ISKCON’s unauthorised event violates sacred traditions and threatens the spiritual fabric of the region.

Concerned about the repeated disregard for established customs, servitors have called for immediate intervention by both the Odisha state government and the central government.

The controversy has led to heated debates, culminating in a crucial meeting at the State Guest House involving the Gajapati Maharaja, Shri Mandir’s chief administrator, and ISKCON representatives.

Opponents argue that the sanctity of Lord Jagannath’s traditions must be upheld, warning that ISKCON’s actions could set a dangerous precedent.

With tensions running high, the final decision on whether the Rath Yatra will proceed remains uncertain, as servitors continue their vocal opposition.
