Bank of Baroda Hosts Inter-Zonal Chess Tournament 2025 under Baroda Anubhuti Programme

Bhubaneswar: Bank of Baroda (Bank), one of India’s leading public sector banks, successfully hosted its Inter-Zonal Chess Tournament 2025 under the Baroda Anubhuti programme at Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar, from November 3rd to 4th, 2025. The event brought together over 150 employees representing 25 Zones, the Corporate Office and the Head Office from across India, all showcasing their strategic thinking and analytical prowess.

The tournament was organised to encourage employee well-being and foster camaraderie through the intellectually stimulating game of chess. The event was graced by Smt. Swapna Bandopadhaya, General Manager & Zonal Head, Bhubaneswar Zone, along with Mr. Shiba Pada Nayak, Deputy General Manager (Business Development) and Mr. V.M.N.S. Saibabu, Deputy General Manager (Compliance & Assurance).

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Swapna Bandopadhaya, General Manager and Zonal Head, Bank of Baroda, said, “At Bank of Baroda, we believe that employee well-being extends beyond professional success. The Baroda Anubhuti programme is Bank of Baroda’s HR Department’s flagship initiative aimed at promoting employee engagement, mental well-being, and work-life balance. It provides employees opportunities to participate in activities that nurture talent, encourage teamwork, and enhance overall wellness.

The two-day tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony on November 4, 2025, where winners were felicitated by Smt. Bandopadhaya. The event highlighted how such initiatives contribute to building a healthier, more cohesive, and motivated workforce.
