- Two young athletes from Sundergarh selected for 13th State-Level Under-17 Kho-Kho Championship.

Burla/Sambalpur: In a significant stride towards empowering rural youth through sports, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), in collaboration with Trust of People (TOP), Lucknow, has been actively promoting sports at the grassroots level with the aim of nurturing young talent and building a culture of fitness, discipline, and teamwork among students and youth.
As part of these continuous efforts, TPWODL supported the participation of seven young athletes in the Sundargarh District Level Kho-Kho Selection, held on 23rd November 2025 at Sundargarh Stadium. The participating students were Shubham Khadia (11), Priti Munda (15), Santosini Munda (14), Rudra Khadia (13), Deepak Dila (13), Sohan Kalo (14) and Dishan Buda (14).
TPWODL is proud to share that, two players Santosini Munda and Dishan Buda qualified to represent Sundargarh at the 13th State-Level Under-17 Kho-Kho Championship, held at Puri. Adding a remarkable milestone to this achievement, Dishan Buda, a Class 9 student of Tankadhar High School, Nuadihi, secured third position and won the Bronze Medal, showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship at the state arena.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, said, “This medal is a moment of pride—not just for the student but for the entire community. Sports are powerful in shaping discipline, character, and confidence. Through our CSR sports initiative, TPWODL remains committed to identifying and nurturing rural talent and giving them every opportunity to excel at higher platforms.”
It is not out of place to mentioned that, under this sports promotion initiative, TPWODL has been organizing training camps, inter-school tournaments, and awareness programmes on physical wellbeing. These structured efforts focus on identifying promising athletes, providing them with coaching support, and fostering inclusive participation irrespective of gender or background. The initiative also leverages the support of CSR partners and local institutions to ensure sustainable development in the field of sports.
