Bhubaneswar, Sept 22 — The trailer for Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 dropped today, offering a gripping glimpse into the mystical roots of the 2022 blockbuster Kantara.

Directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, the prequel promises a deeper dive into the folklore of Daiva Kola/Bhuta Kola rituals and ancestral resistance.

Set in a forested village, the story begins with young Shiva questioning his father’s disappearance during a sacred ritual.

As he uncovers tales of divine possession and rebellion against tyranny, the trailer builds toward a climactic moment where Shiva is overtaken by the spirit of Daiva Kola—marking a pivotal transformation.

Gulshan Devaiah plays a ruthless prince, while Rukmini Vasanth portrays a princess whose forbidden romance with Shiva’s ancestor threatens the region’s power structure.

The film blends myth, mysticism, and rebellion into a cinematic spectacle.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, with music by B Ajaneesh Loknath, Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 is slated for a global release on October 2, 2025. It will be available in seven languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
