Burla, March 30, 2026: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has successfully completed and charged the 33kV Barkote Line Project on March 14, significantly improving power supply in Barkote electrical section under Deogarh district.
The existing 33kV Barkote feeder, spanning 4.6 CKM from Barkote GSS (Ambakata) to Barkote PSS, had been in service for over 20 years. Due to ageing condition, multiple joints, and low line height at several places, power supply was getting affected. With a peak load of more than 2 MW, the need for upgrading this important line had become critical to ensure safe and reliable electricity.
Despite multiple challenges, including land-related constraints, and difficult field conditions, the project team completed the work successfully through strong coordination and continuous supervision. Safety remained the top priority, and the entire project was completed without any accidents while maintaining quality standards.
With an investment of around ₹1.14 crore, the newly upgraded line will benefit 72 villages, 1 high-value consumer, and around 8,543 consumers in the area. Consumers will now experience better voltage, fewer power cuts, and more reliable electricity supply.
Areas such as Kadapada, Dandasinga, and Barkote feeders have already started receiving improved power. Essential services like hospitals, schools, and government offices are now getting more stable electricity, supporting better public services and overall development in the region.
TPWODL continues its commitment to strengthening power infrastructure and ensuring reliable electricity for all consumers across Western Odisha.
