Tata Steel Foundation Facilitates Foundation Stone laying for Infrastructure Initiatives in Dhenkanal

Meramandali, May 14, 2026: Tata Steel Foundation has facilitated the laying of foundation stones for two key community infrastructure initiatives in Dhenkanal district, aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure and improving rural connectivity. The projects include the construction of a four-classroom building for the proposed Degree Women’s College at Rasol and a Cement Concrete (CC) road at Shibapur village under Odapada block.

The foundation stones for both projects were laid by Rudra Narayan Pany, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Dhenkanal, and Simarani Nayak, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Hindol, in the presence of Dilip Kumar Sethi, Tehsildar, Hindol, Manas Naik, Sarpanch, Shibapur, Varun Sara, Vice Chairman, Hindol, Subhransu Shekhar Panda, Chief Corporate Services, Tata Steel Meramandali and Kumar Saurabh, Unit Leader, TSF, local representatives, community members and officials.

The classroom building at Hindol-Rasol is envisioned to strengthen access to higher education for girls in the region. The proposed college is expected to serve students from nearly 14 surrounding blocks and benefit around 160 students. The initiative aims to create a safe and conducive learning environment while encouraging greater participation of girls in higher education.

In another initiative, Tata Steel Foundation has supported the construction of a CC road at Shibapur village under Shibapur Gram Panchayat in Odapada block. The road project is expected to benefit nearly 5,000 commuters, including students, patients, and residents.

The initiative is expected to facilitate safer movement of people and vehicles, improve drainage, and strengthen rural infrastructure to support socio-economic development in the area.

Through these initiatives, Tata Steel Foundation continues to work towards addressing critical community infrastructure needs and enhancing access to education and connectivity in rural Odisha.
