Aditya Aluminium and TPWODL Partner to Solarize 44 Peripheral Villages Under ULA Model

Sambalpur, June 06, 2026: In a significant step towards promoting renewable energy adoption and empowering rural communities, M/s Aditya Aluminium Pvt. Ltd., Lapanga, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) for implementation of rooftop solar projects under the ULA Model of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana in villages located around the company’s operational area.

The MoU was exchanged between Mr. Jagannath Nayak, Unit Head, Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga, and Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, in the presence of Mr. Prasanna Patra, CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Sambalpur, Mr. Gulshan Tiwari, CPP Head, Mr. Jyoti Muduli, members of the CSR team from Aditya Aluminium, and senior officials from TPWODL at Zilla Parishad office, Sambalpur on Saturday.

The initiative aims to accelerate rooftop solar adoption among lower-income households through TPWODL’s Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Supported through Aditya Aluminium’s CSR initiative, eligible families will gain access to clean, reliable and affordable solar energy, enabling them to significantly reduce their monthly electricity expenses while contributing to a greener future.

As part of the collaboration, 44 villages across 6 Gram Panchayats located in the periphery of Aditya Aluminium’s plant have been identified for implementation. In the first phase, rooftop solar systems will be installed in RR Colony, Ludhapali and RR Colony, Pondloi villages. A total of 336 eligible households have been identified for Phase-I. The CSR support from Aditya Aluminium will facilitate the beneficiary contribution required for installation of rooftop solar systems under the scheme, making renewable energy more accessible to economically weaker families.

In the occasion, Mr. Jagannath Nayak, Unit Head, Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga, said,

Expressing his happiness, Mr. Prasanna Patra, CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Sambalpur, said, “this is a commendable initiative that will bring the benefits of renewable energy directly to rural households. The remaining identified villages will be covered in a phased manner I am confident that the number of beneficiaries will grow from around 300 households to nearly 3,000 households in the coming years.”
