Koraput: As part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) flagged off its Solar Rath from the Koraput Collectorate to promote rooftop solar adoption across the district. Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Koraput, flagged off the Solar Rath in the presence of TPSODL officials.
The Solar Rath will cover all 14 blocks of Koraput district to spread awareness about the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) Model. The initiative aims to help more households understand the benefits of rooftop solar energy and encourage them to adopt clean and affordable power solutions.
The Solar Rath will use radio jingles and distribute Information, Education and Communication (IEC) leaflets to reach people across the district. Solar Sanga members accompanying the Rath will interact directly with consumers, explain the scheme’s benefits and guide them through the application process. They will also address consumer queries and provide information about the available subsidies and the ULA Model.
Mr. Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL, said, “The Solar Rath is an important initiative to take awareness about rooftop solar energy directly to communities across Koraput district. Through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and our ULA Model, we aim to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for households. By engaging directly with consumers, we hope to address their queries, simplify the application process and encourage more families to embrace clean energy. We remain committed to supporting the adoption of rooftop solar across Southern Odisha.”
TPSODL has been undertaking several outreach activities to promote rooftop solar adoption across Southern Odisha. These include Nukkad Natak, Gram Sabha awareness programmes, consumer interactions and other information campaigns. These initiatives aim to make people aware of the scheme, clarify their doubts and help eligible households move towards solar energy.
