Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University (BGU), in collaboration with Adfactors PR, successfully organized a two-day National Conference on “Reimagining Communication Management in a Data-Driven, Platform Economy” on March 19–20, 2026.
The conference brought together distinguished experts including Dr. Samir Kapur, Director, Adfactors PR, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Anupam Das from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Kulbhushan Balooni, Vice Chancellor of BGU, also addressed the gathering.
The inaugural session began with a welcome address by convenor Suresh Kumar Golle, Assistant Professor at the Birla School of Communication. Dr. Shiv Shankar Das, Dean (BSoComm), set the tone for the conference by emphasizing the growing importance of data-driven communication in today’s evolving media landscape.
In his keynote address, Dr. Anupam Das highlighted how data is shaping personalized and predictive communication, while also cautioning against the risks of information overload. Dr. Samir Kapur spoke on the emergence of AI-led conversational communication, stressing that in the current ecosystem, accuracy and trust are becoming more important than speed. Prof. Balooni underscored the need for knowledge-based communication in the age of social media.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of the MBA in Communication Management programme, along with the release of the Book of Abstracts.
