Bhubaneswar: As part of its continued commitment to community well-being, healthcare and employee safety, Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has undertaken a series of initiatives focused on supporting community healthcare needs, employee well-being and local communities across its areas of operation. As part of its healthcare outreach, the company organised Blood Donation Camps across its Jamuria, Mangalpur and CRM units, in association with Asansol Blood Bank.
The initiatives witnessed strong participation from employees and stakeholders, resulting in the collection of approximately 500 units of blood across the three locations. The collective effort contributed to strengthening the availability of critical blood resources and supporting life-saving healthcare needs.
At the Jamuria Unit, approximately 300 units of blood were collected, while the Mangalpur Unit contributed another 50 units. A further 150 units were collected through the Blood Donation Camp at CRM. Together, these initiatives reinforced the importance of voluntary blood donation and community participation in supporting critical healthcare requirements.
Extending its community engagement efforts, Shyam Metalics also organised a welfare programme at an orphan home in Andal, where lunch was arranged for approximately 35 beneficiaries and bags were distributed to 25 children. The initiative focused on supporting the children’s well-being and educational needs while fostering meaningful engagement with the local community.
As part of its ongoing community outreach efforts, Shyam Metalics also extended relief assistance to families affected by floods. The company distributed 400 packets of relief kits across the flood-affected areas of Kendrapara, Santhapada and Phirikidandi, providing essential support to communities facing difficult conditions. Overall, approximately 500 packets of relief materials were distributed across flood-affected areas, reflecting the company’s efforts to respond to community needs during times of distress.
Further strengthening its focus on employee healthcare and workplace safety, the company also inaugurated a new Occupational Health Centre (OHC) at its plant. The facility is aimed at enhancing employee healthcare, preventive medical support, emergency preparedness and workplace safety protocols. The OHC is expected to enable timely medical assistance, strengthen occupational health practices and contribute towards creating a healthier and safer workplace.
