TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) is strengthening grassroots awareness and consumer engagement for PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana through Seva Setu Camp and Solar Rath initiatives across Northern Odisha.
Seva Setu Camps were organised at Udala in Mayurbhanj district, Bhograi in Baleshwar district, Dhenkikote in Kendujhar district and Dharmasala in Jajpur district, providing consumers direct access to TPNODL’s Solar Cell, Customer Service teams and Business Associates. The teams addressed queries and guided consumers on rooftop solar adoption, eligibility, government subsidies and the application process under the scheme. Through various awareness initiatives and Seva Setu Camps, in a day over 475 consumers across the five districts have registered for the scheme.
The initiatives witnessed active participation from consumers, local administration and community stakeholders. At Udala, Mr. Hema Kanta Say, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Mayurbhanj, and other senior officials participated in the programme. At Dhenkikote, Mr. Khageswar Baral, BDO, joined the awareness initiative, while Mr. Prasant Maharana, BDO, participated in the programme at Bhograi along with other stakeholders.
At Dharmasala, Jajpur, TPNODL expanded its outreach with a new Solar Rath, which will travel across rural communities, commercial marketplaces and prominent public locations to promote awareness about rooftop solar solutions. It was flagged off by Mr. Ambar Kumar Kar, Collector & District Magistrate, Jajpur, in the presence of Shri Judhisthir Naik, ADM, Jajpur, district administration officials, TPNODL representatives and local stakeholders.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, CEO TPNODL, said, “Through our Seva Setu Camps and Solar Rath initiatives, we are taking PM Surya Ghar closer to communities by providing consumers with information, guidance and support for rooftop solar adoption. With the continued support of the district administration and our stakeholders, we remain committed to accelerating the clean energy transition across Northern Odisha.”
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana promotes rooftop solar adoption among residential households, supporting cleaner energy generation and helping eligible consumers reduce electricity expenditure through applicable financial assistance. To further strengthen consumer outreach, Seva Setu Camps are planned across multiple blocks in the five districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj, bringing information, guidance and application support closer to consumers.
