– Around 6,500 personnel deployed across Southern Odisha to support restoration efforts

Berhampur, November 2026: Electricity supply has been restored to Aska urban area of Ganjam district following severe flooding triggered by Cyclone Arnab and subsequent heavy rainfall. Restoration teams worked continuously to repair damaged electrical infrastructure and bring normalcy to the power distribution network despite challenging ground conditions.

Aska witnessed extensive waterlogging, with several neighbourhoods, market areas and commercial establishments affected by flooding. Inundated locations, accumulated mud and debris, and damage to electrical infrastructure posed significant challenges for restoration teams. Personnel were mobilised to undertake repair and restoration work while adhering to safety protocols.

To strengthen restoration operations across its eight-district service area, TPSODL has deployed around 6,500 personnel across Southern Odisha. The workforce included Senior officials, Engineers, employees and skilled and unskilled project personnel.

The restoration operations were backed by around 400 vehicles, six mobile distribution substations and 16 transit stores, ensuring the movement of personnel, equipment and materials to affected locations. Dedicated teams worked across divisions to assess damage, repair infrastructure and progressively restore electricity supply.

TPSODL remains committed to ensuring reliable electricity supply and supporting communities through the recovery process.
